Research Interests

  • Aquatic toxicology

Current and Planned Research Projects

  • lethal and sublethal effects of pesticides, pharmaceuticals, metals and PAHs in crustaceans, molluscs, and fish
  • sediment toxicity tests utilizing benthic and pelagic aquatic animals
  • effects of pesticides and pharmaceuticals on vertebrate and invertebrate aquatic animal enzyme systems
  • the planning and execution of a Mesocosm-scale oil spill experiment studying the effects of oil and the oil spill dispersant, Corexit 9500, on a salt marsh ecosystem
  • the effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals on estuarine crustaceans and fish
  • evaluate the effects of contaminants using the Microtox assay
